Requirements:

PNP Category is one of the most popular pathways under Express Entry. Candidates who receive a nomination from a Canadian province or territory get 600 additional CRS points, making them highly competitive.

  • Must receive a Provincial Nomination from one of Canada’s provinces or territories.
  • Must meet the specific eligibility criteria of the PNP stream you are nominated under (e.g., Express Entry-linked stream).
  • Must have the required work experience, education, and/or job offer as stated by the nominating province.
  • Must meet the minimum language requirements set by the province (usually CLB 5 or higher, but varies by stream).
  • Must have a valid Express Entry profile at the time of nomination.

Important Notes:

There are two main types of PNP nominations:

  • Express Entry-linked PNP (adds 600 CRS points and allows you to receive an Invitation to Apply through Express Entry)
  • Base PNP (does not go through Express Entry)

Each province sets its own eligibility rules, job offer requirements, and points system.

Having a PNP nomination almost guarantees an Invitation to Apply (ITA) due to the large CRS boost.

Note: Full details and specific requirements will be included in the instructions for each PNP draw round.
